The Role
We’re seeking a Physical Security Lead to own our physical security initiatives and processes at our Huntington Beach HQ. The Physical Security Lead is a trained and experienced professional who will provide leadership of site physical security programs, access control systems, intrusion detection systems, CCTV systems, and guard force operations.
The ideal candidate has a background in physical security or law enforcement with deep expertise in providing asset, facility, and personnel protection at aerospace, defense, or government facilities. The Physical Security Lead develops and enforces security policies, conducts risk assessments, develops and manages the organization’s incident response plans, coordinates with local law enforcement, maintains and enhances CCTV and access control systems, and develops site security awareness training. This role is critical in safeguarding the company’s people and technology. They will also monitor internal controls, track remediation efforts, and help align teams with regulatory and contractual requirements. Ideal candidates have a strong understanding of sensitive technology (ITAR/CUI), excellent communication skills, and experience managing security programs in fast-paced environments.
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily site security operations across Mach’s Huntington Beach HQ.
Refine and communicate the site security strategy, aligning it with core business objectives.
Conduct quarterly and ad hoc Threat, Vulnerability, and Risk Assessments focused on physical site security.
Maintain the Site Security Plan, including emergency and access protocols, post orders, and audit documentation.
Identify, prioritize, develop, and implement security measures, emergency preparedness and response plans, and security protocols and strategies.
Participate in local, state, and federal working groups to maintain awareness of emergent threats and vulnerabilities.
Monitor regulatory obligations and maintain audit readiness through continuous assessment and documentation.
Maintain security equipment such as cameras, alarms, and access control systems.
Assess systems, alarms, and other physical security measures for effectiveness.
Address and resolve security issues promptly, effectively, and independently.
Maintain a positive, professional environment in full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures; ensure that all team members understand and comply with those laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
Ensure company security training completion and maintain accurate compliance records; other duties as assigned.
Provide management and direction to guard force when required.
Required Qualifications
7–10+ years of physical security, industrial security, military, or law enforcement experience
Prior experience leading security programs at an aerospace or defense industry facility.
Experience configuring and maintaining Access Control, CCTV, Intrusion Detection Systems
Possess or be eligible for a valid state security officer license.
Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive progressive improvement in site security operations and readiness.
Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills; proven ability to lead investigations and incident response.
Comfortable owning large initiatives end-to-end with minimal oversight.
Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe PDF, and security management software
Preferred Qualifications
Active Secret or Top-Secret Clearance.
PSP, CPP, or other professional security certifications.
Knowledge or experience with Verkada.
Advanced medical training, such as TCCC.
Experience supporting government inspections and classified facility programs.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
Proven track record of leading engineers through complex, hands-on work.

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offers may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and training, critical skills, and business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in most offers and are considered part of Mach’s total compensation package.
