About Etched
Etched is building AI chips that are hard-coded for individual model architectures. Our first product (Sohu) only supports transformers, but has an order of magnitude more throughput and lower latency than a B200. With Etched ASICs, you can build products that would be impossible with GPUs, like real-time video generation models and extremely deep & parallel chain-of-thought reasoning agents.
Job Summary:
We’re looking for a meticulous and highly organized Logistics & Inventory Associate to manage the inbound flow and tracking of materials critical to our semiconductor development and manufacturing processes. You’ll be on the front line for receiving, coordinating with internal teams, and maintaining a real-time view of lab and warehouse inventory.
Key Responsibilities:
Inbound Logistics & Receiving
Coordinate incoming shipments of R&D materials, silicon wafers, lab equipment, and mock-up assemblies.
Collaborate with suppliers and logistics partners to ensure proper documentation (POs, packing lists, invoices).
Track and confirm on-time delivery of inbound shipments; escalate delivery issues as needed.
Inventory Control & Tracking
Receive and log materials into internal systems, reconciling against POs and supplier documentation.
Maintain real-time visibility into material status via ERP (Netsuite) and inventory tracking tools.
Organize and label inbound items to ensure traceability and minimize handling errors.
Warehouse & Lab Support
Interface with lab and engineering teams to understand material requirements and distribute supplies efficiently.
Help set up consignment/virtual inventory workflows and track stock levels at internal or supplier-managed locations.
Support lab audits and inventory counts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
You may be a good fit if you have
1–2 years of experience in warehouse operations, shipping/receiving, or inventory control (internships included)
Familiarity with ERP or inventory tracking systems (NetSuite, SAP, etc.)
Experience assisting with PO/SO creation and tracking
High attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures precisely
Effective communicator; able to coordinate across functions and external vendors
Ability to lift and move moderate-weight items (~25 lbs)
Strong candidates may also have experience with
Prior lab or warehouse work in a semiconductor or hardware environment
Familiarity with startup operations or fast-paced R&D cycles
Experience supporting inventory audits or compliance processes
Compensation
This is a 1099 contract position, expected to be 40 - 50 hours per week. Compensation is hourly and competitive, based on experience and qualifications.
As a contractor, this role is not eligible for full-time benefits (e.g., medical, dental, vision insurance), but you will have:
Paid access to daily lunch and dinner at our San Jose office
Opportunity to grow into a full-time role as our operations scale
How we’re different
Etched believes in the Bitter Lesson. We think most of the progress in the AI field has come from using more FLOPs to train and run models, and the best way to get more FLOPs is to build model-specific hardware. Larger and larger training runs encourage companies to consolidate around fewer model architectures, which creates a market for single-model ASICs.
We are a fully in-person team in San Jose (Santana Row), and greatly value engineering skills. We do not have boundaries between engineering and research, and we expect all of our technical staff to contribute to both as needed.
